Welcome to WOTMT archives, this section covers the period of the paper fanzine - for five seasons, from 1997/8 through to 2002/3.

This was produced by Paul Taylor, Nick Riley, Andy Selman and Steve Walmsley. The same team is now responsible for our online revival. So after you have had a stroll down memory lane, do have a read of our new stuff!

In which the Blunts make the play-offs and we get relegated to the old Division 3 in only the 2nd time in our existence – it was miserable!

And another season of debts and struggle only just resulting in safety, clambering over the Mighty Millers to get there!

2000/01

After promising us “A Premiership Return Ticket” the board appointed Paul Jewell to underwhelm us, we struggled to get to grips with the then League 1 and ended up lower mid-table.

1999/00

Danny’s signing looked like a good collection of individuals but was it a team? Danny lost control of a dressing room full of egos, Shreevsie did his best to rescue it but failed and we were rightly relegated as we were crap.

1998/99

After a last minute populist appointment of Danny Wilson we feared the worst but did ok finishing 12th and we beat Man Utd 3-1 even though they did the treble that season. But the debts arising from trying to live the dream were mounting.

In the previous year Shreevsie coached the team and we just missed a UEFA cup slot. In the summer we had spent £5.7m on DiCanio and we all thought we were going to give it a good it a good go. Pleat lost it and got the boot. Enter Big Fat Ron Atkinson and we finished 16th.

Why did we stop writing for 8 years?

We wrote, edited, printed and sold WOTMT (in all weathers, home and away) for five seasons from 1997/8 through to 2002/3. We all had busy jobs and family commitments and after watching so much rubbish on the pitch we all lost our individual and collective mojo’s. Truth be known we’ve all missed it and over the time since 2003 we’ve hankered after doing it again, we even kept the money in the bank account just in case we ever did re-discover the energy. The internet enables us to have the fun and writing for publication about the team we love but without all the graft associated with the paper fanzine. So, in Autumn 2010 we decided to go for it! We’re all a bit older, hopefully no wiser and still in love with the daftness that is Sheffield Wednesday. We’re glad to be back in 2011!
